Financial Aid at a Glance

We provide virtual counseling and have resources for students to access aid information online through our Contact Us/Virtual Counseling page, which lists FAQs and includes self-service options to complete tasks remotely.

Advisors are available in office, by email at finaid@uiwtx.edu or telephone at (210) 829-6008 during office hours. Zoom appointments are also available by request.

2024 - 2025 FAFSA Update

The 2024 - 2025 FAFSA is open! Award letters will be sent starting in late April 2024 once you have submitted your FAFSA. Prepare to complete your FAFSA by having 2022 tax information available (tax returns and W2s, if applicable) and making sure you have your FSA ID handy. Your parent(s) will also need an FSA ID if you are a dependent student. Keep an eye on your student email for updates!

FAFSA Timeline:

Late April 2024 - UIW will begin to send award letters to new students. Returning student awards will follow.

UIW does not award most aid on a "first-come, first-served" basis. However, you should still complete the FAFSA as early as possible to allow the maximum amount of time for planning and budgeting.

Need help completing your FAFSA? Come in and see us, or schedule a virtual appointment! We must be able to see your screen in order to efficiently assist you and/or troubleshoot any problems with completing your FAFSA.

Meet with the Office of Financial Assistance

Join the Office of Financial Assistance at on-campus events with UIW staff available to work with you one-on-one.

  • Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    • Including representatives from Advising to meet with families individually to discuss degree pathways and future course registration. The Office of Admissions will also be available for anyone who would like a campus tour.

Register to Attend May 18 Event

Students should have their FSA ID to login, and parent(s) should have theirs set up to bring with them so staff can assist with any issues. For parents who are unable to retrieve or create their FSA ID, we recommend an individual in-person or virtual appointment with the Office of Financial Assistance before the workshop.

At the May 18 workshops, we will also assist in reviewing UIW financial aid offer letters that have been received.

If you are an admitted student who has submitted your FAFSA and has received a Student Aid Index (SAI) number from Federal Student Aid, you may book an in-person or virtual appointment with the Office of Financial Assistance so we can provide an estimated aid package.
